Sure, the crowd of people around them was all there to watch the Fireworks, but Yoongi had found something much more beautiful and was having trouble looking away.

Yoongi couldn't help but look over at the brunette beside him. He hadn't seen Jimin look this open and happy in what felt like years. The younger was too busy watching the Fireworks as they exploded and sent colours flying all over the dark canvas behind them for him to notice Yoongi watching him with a deep admiration on his face. Sure, the crowd of people around them was all there to watch the Fireworks but Yoongi had found something much more beautiful and was having trouble looking away.

When Yoongi first brought up the idea of the two of them going and watching the Fireworks he’d only done so to get Jimin out of the house for the first time in what seemed like much too long. Honestly, Yoongi had never actually expected Jimin to agree but when he got a small nod in agreement he couldn't help but smile to himself for the rest of the day. He didn't know what had caused Jimin to lock himself away in his room for weeks on end without any outside communication at times, but he knew that it was up to him to cheer up his beloved friend and get him back to the energetic, bubbly self that he was known for. At first, Jimin hadn't listened to anything that Yoongi had said and refused to do anything other than lay in bed all day watching cheesy dramas on tv, but after constant days of Yoongi bugging him Jimin finally caved in and let the elder drag him to watch the light display.

As Yoongi watched the bright colours light up Jimin’s face he slowly saw the walls that Jimin had spent ages building crumble down. He saw the small smile grow on his face and the muscles in his face loosen up. Yoongi had gotten so use to the defenses and barricades that Jimin had put up that he had almost forgotten how truly beautiful he looked when truly happy.

It seemed Jimin was in his own world while Yoongi’s world was standing right in front of him. He couldn't explain the energy that came over him in that moment but one second he was watching Jimin and then the next he was softly grabbing the younger’s face and turning it towards him. Jimin looked at him with slight confusion clouding his features as Yoongi ran his thumbs slowly across his cheeks.

“I really missed you you know?” he whispered so gently that Jimin almost didn't hear it over the sound of the Fireworks surrounding them. “I was so worried that I’d lost you and it ruined me having to watch you slowly waste away into a self-loathing shell of a person.” He stared into Jimin’s eyes not really expecting an answer but also not sure about what to do next.

“Hyung,” the younger paused as if he was trying to figure out what to say next and slowly lowered his eyes so he was no longer facing Yoongi, but rather at his feet instead. “I just didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want you to hate me or for anything to change from how it was before.”

“Jimin you know that I could never hate you right? You can tell me whatever you need to get off your chest.” Yoongi went to continue but was cut off by the feeling of soft, plump lips being softly pressed against his own. His mind went blank as he closed his eyes and leaned forward slightly to return the kiss. His body felt like it was on fire yet he was frozen in place, only coming back to reality when Jimin slowly pulled away. He opened his eyes and was looking directly in the face of a nervous Jimin.

“I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have done that. You probably hate me now I’m so sorry-“ His panicking was cut off by Yoongi’s lips being pressed up against his for the second time in the last couple minutes. This time Jimin felt himself melt into the kiss and his heart was a weird mix between beating so fast it was going to burst out of his chest and stopping altogether. Out of all the scenarios that Jimin had replayed over and over in his mind, this was the best outcome he could have ever hoped for. The Fireworks were no longer surrounding him but rather inside him, lighting up the darkness that had consumed his mind recently.

As they slowly pulled apart neither of them knew what to say, so they settled for a pleasant silence instead and as Jimin turned back to face the Fireworks again he felt Yoongi’s arms wrap around his waist and pull him slightly closer. Jimin finally felt the massive weight lifted off his shoulders as he looked beside him and saw the smile on Yoongi’s face as he watched the sky light up around them. Maybe things wouldn't turn out so bad after all.

This is really old and pretty bad but I never posted it here so I thought that I might as well.
